My car in the Hotel de Paris reserved space on the entrance to Casino Square. I was watching the F1 qualifying and every time the cars exit Massenet they drive right over this parking space! Look out for it in the race tomorrow!
By the time you add in all the barriers to this photo it gives you some idea of just how tight the circuit round Monte Carlo actually is. When the Formula 1 cars enter this corner, maybe 50 metres behind and to the left of shot, they are doing over 170mph. They slow to a little over 100mph for Casino just beyond the cars in the distance.

Why can’t we have weather like this all summer?! I was still sitting on the beach when I took this at half 9 tonight. The downside was I got eaten alive by midges walking home.

For once I have a day off and the sun is shining so went a walk along the coast.

When I got winter tyres fitted to my car in December I used what Kwik-Fit call the Tyre Hotel to store my summer tyres until the warmer weather. With the way the weather has been I’ve kept the winters on until now and decided to look out the paperwork to arrange the swap back and saw a ludicrous statement. I paid £50 for them to store the tyres and at the bottom of the slip they gave me it says you only get 6 months and then they dispose of any unclaimed tyres!
So they have around £1,100 worth of tyres that belong to me that I paid them to store and if I hadn’t claimed them in less than 3 weeks time they’d have tossed them in the bin?! What the hell?! They sent me a thing through the mail at the beginning of March about getting them swapped back (ironic considering the only sleet and snow we got all winter came in April!) which means if I’d went ahead then I’d only have had until the beginning of September to get the winters put back on. The last few years September has been the best weather we’ve had all year!
